ABOUT ME

With a degree in Environmental Science from Emory University and a passion for the natural world, Rita decided to combine her love of art and science.

 Before becoming a mom, Rita helped run an organic farm in Black Mountain, NC. This deepened her knowledge and appreciation of the earth. With an awareness of the urgency and need for future generations to become good stewards of the land, Rita started creating images. Stewardship develops through appreciation, so inspiring a love of nature became the focus of Rita’s art. She creates art that embraces the beauty and the mystery of nature. With a playful eye, her work imparts not only beauty, but also a sense of awe, fantasy and, and perhaps most importantly, potential.  

 These whimsical and colorful multi-use images provide positive energy in a world where positivity is often in short supply. She currently resides in Barrington, Rhode Island, with her son and her cat.
